Waterfront dining setting with seafood and other specialties. Outdoor seating overlooking the harbor is available as well as window views from the restaurant and lounge. View is to die for. Outside terrace. Go for drinks at sunset and consider staying for dinner or having an appetizer dinner at the bar.  Good choice for luncheon place to take friends or family from out of town.

In the former Presellers space, this new Italian ristorante is bringing in good reviews from those who have visited.  Selection of traditional pastas, antipasti, chicken, veal, and seafood, plus signature dishes.

Waterfront steak and seafood restaurant with in and outside dining, upscale bar setting. Lots of dockage so definitely a-go-by-boat opportunity. Good food.

Good little place with outdoor bar and tables. Mostly Tex-Mex reasonably priced. Catch specials like 49 cent Wings. Mexican specialties are best. Brenda serving great breakfasts here daily from 6:30 a.m.

Great place to take visitors for waterfront experience and incredible harbor views. Very casual sports bar atmosphere with burgers, fish baskets and the like, as well as some very good salads. Fun place with entertainment many nights.

New entrant in 2014 on the Punta Gorda restaurant scene.  Extensive deck overlooking the harbor with massive inside rooms (the old Benedettos revamped).  Seafood, southern, and other pub-grub delivered by Dean (of Dean's South of the Border).  Great place for drinks, entertainment and good food.

English-style Pub in old Punta Gorda Ice House building with massive ceilings, gorgeous handcrafted bar and nice pub feel. Long list of beer selections. Try the beer flite and play darts or billiards in the backroom. Good pub grub including cheese/meat bar plate, cheesesteaks, burgers, and some traditional English fare.

"Barista" feel with window bar spilling onto main street --Marion Ave.   Some great standards as well as good hamburgers, flatbread pizzas.  Jack's serves lunch and dinner as well as Sunday brunch.  

John Ski's House of Breakfast  502 King St.  Breakfast and Lunch.  Huge breakfasts served all day, including crab cake benedict. Lunches include freshly made soups and famous crab cake sandwich.

Monty's returns to old location in a new high-ceilinged space with cool round bar that rolls around to an outdoor patio.  Very good pizza and typcial Italian dishes.

An elegant, open space with “top-chef” style dishes that most rave about.  Bar menu available along with happy hour.  Good choice for a light meal and drinks at the bar or formal dinner.

Nice hang-out for superior glasses of wine and a light meal.  This is for one of those nights when you just want a small plate to nibble on as you sip and listen to some jazz or meet with a friend in a cozy, sophisticated atmosphere.  Frequently have events, check.

Authentic old Florida fish house.  Many of the crabs eaten in Maryland crab houses come right out of this area in Florida and this little place up on Route 17 serves them just they way they do in Maryland--and lots of them.  Watch for specials.  Many fresh fish selections, all good.

In the old Mamma Nuncia's, Phil has infused this casual dining spot (lot’s of southern Italian dishes) with large sumptuous food portions in a comfortable family, taverna atmosphere with  good quality and  good value. Great sandwiches, burgers, salads and more at lunch. Phil is omnipresent in the traditional restaurant host role, welcoming newcomers and chatting up regulars.

Small Italian out Route 17 receiving rave reviews for authentic home-style Italian with large portions.
Expect to wait but told it's worth it.

City-style bar and grill with good steaks, chops and fish. Watch for specials, happy hour.

Small, elegant restaurant serving primarily seafood. Interesting lunch spot with sandwiches, salads and more. 



Sky View Cafe at Charlotte Country Airport, Punta Gorda. (941637-6004) Breakfast, Lunch, Friday Night Dinner. Café.

For a change of pace, this restaurant at Charlotte County Airport is a winner. Dependable eggs and pancakes, french toast which has been coated with Oatmeal (sounds weird, but believe me this is terrific), and they serve in my opinion the best hash browns with scrambled eggs and toast.  Friday night fish-fry. Windows to watch the planes come and go.  At a recent visit, their pancakes were the best we've had in Punta Gorda.

Good Florida-style home-cooking especially their sausage and I'm told their biscuits and gravy.

Get ready for some great schnitzel, goulash, bratwurst and more at this German-European bistro across from the City Center parking garage (where Spago’s used to be.) In addition, to outstanding German dishes, the restaurant serves delectable pastas and other European dishes.  Not to miss are the flammkuchens (a Alsace-Lorraine style pizza) and the apfelstrufel.

Getting great reviews from locals and visitors for fresh seafood dishes especially fish tacos, grouper oscar, and mahi. Small but quaint little room with adjoining seafood store.

Trabue  258 West Marion Ave. Downtown Punta Gorda (941) 639-0900. Fine Dining.

In an ultra-sleek space with magnificent granite bar is Punta Gorda’s version of a farm to table restaurant which means ingredients are sourced as locally as possible. You can either pick a lounge area to nibble some appetizers and wine, have a formal dinner at table seating, or imbibe and nosh at the bar.  But not-to-miss is the lighted Key-West-Style back patio that winds around cascading trees and other vegetation with lovely garden touches.  Great spot for a drink and some nights music listening or to have a light meal or full dinner. Rave reviews on the food from locals and visitors.

City-style restaurant with reasonable prices for excellent cuisine -- especially duck, chicken pot pie. Sushi also offered.  Watch for the Torch Lady.

Great pizza and other traditional dishes. Wood-fired oven creates just the right pizza crust--believe me we searched for this one and were surprised and delighted.

Newly reopened.  Lovely restaurant/bar with somewhat casual menu featuring oyster bar and great hamburgers.

Recently renovated with new bar. Solidly good and reliable fish sandwiches and platters at reasonable prices. Harbor views and outside tables off Center Court in the Village.
